M&S re-opens transformed Martlesham Heath store

M&SM&S’ Martlesham Heath store welcomed customers back inside this morning, following a two-month transformation.

The 13,000sq ft store offers the best of M&S Food for customers, with even more products available to choose from and exciting new features to explore.

Customers can find a brand-new in-store bakery & coffee counter, serving barista-made takeaway drinks, alongside a selection of pastries and bread, including M&S’ popular Collection Sourdough.

Elsewhere, a brand-new cheese barge at the centre of the store offers a selection of speciality cheeses.

Throughout the store, customers will find the M&S Remarksable Value range – made up of over 100 everyday essentials, price benchmarked against key competitors and with an M&S quality point of difference – including the 15 new vegetable lines added last week.

M&S’ Bigger Pack Better Value range, offering trusted value and exceptional quality, is also the perfect choice for families looking for easy meal prep and to stock up the fridge.

As part of the store’s renewal, customers now have even more products to choose from, including a larger fresh produce offer from M&S’ Select Farm partners (over 200 of which are based in Suffolk).

This week, M&S launched over 500 new summer products and customers will find plenty to choose from at the store, from the Flip and Dip Creamy Red Pepper Dip to Long Dogs and smoky campfire mayo, perfect for a bank holiday BBQ.

The store first opened in 2013 before an extension saw it double in size back in 2017. Store Manager Jonathan Black, who has worked at M&S for 15 years, was joined by the store team shortly before 8am to cut the ribbon and officially welcome customers back inside – with long-serving colleagues Tom, Jane and Sue doing the honours and cutting the ribbon.

He said of the re-opening: “It feels amazing to be back serving our customers. The atmosphere has been electric this morning and I’m so grateful to everyone who queued to be one of the first inside. A massive thanks also to the team for all their hard work – this investment in Martlesham means we can now deliver the best of M&S Food for our customers, just in time for the bank holiday and the start of summer.”
