Nutrigums develops chewable vitamin gummy with a combination of cranberry and vitamin C

NutrigumsVegan global vitamin brand, Nutrigums, has developed a chewable gummy supplement that’s bursting with a powerful combination of cranberry and vitamin C.

The new cherry-flavour Cranberry & Vitamin C gummy is packed with a high concentration of cranberry fruit which, according to NHS advice, could be helpful in preventing Urinary Tract Infections (UTI). The supplement also contains Vitamin C, which contributes towards the normal function of the immune system while also acting as an antioxidant.

This comes one year on from the NHS officially updating its guidance on managing chronic UTIs and calls from campaigners to treat the condition seriously, as Google search volumes for ‘urinary tract infection treatments’ rose by 50% between July 2023 and July 2024.

Dr Sarah Brewer, medical advisor to Nutrigums, said: “Cranberries are a rich source of unique polyphenols known as ‘A-type’ proanthocyanidins. These can attach onto the cells of some of the bacteria responsible for causing UTIs, to stop them sticking to the urinary tract wall where they can then cause an infection.

“Studies have shown that women with recurring UTIs who used cranberry products were 47% less likely to suffer, rising to 51% for all women generally, and 67% for children, showing the wonderful potential of this powerful fruit.

“The NHS website also states that those who suffer from a weakened immune system may be more likely to suffer with UTIs, so by adding Vitamin C to the supplement, it can help to support normal immune function, adding to the benefits of this new gummy.”

Fabian Whittingham, co-founder of Nutrigums said: “As we continue in our mission to help people stay healthy, we knew this product would be the perfect expansion to our range, offering an alternative way to take cranberry for those who don’t like tablets or sachets. And it’s the first of many new products we’re looking forward to releasing this year.

“We believe that good health should be affordable and accessible, but most importantly delicious, which is why we’ve formulated these new chewable gummies with a natural cherry flavour – perfect for children and adults from age five and up, and suitable for vegetarian and vegan diets. We’d recommend taking no more than two a day to benefit from their positive nutritional effects.”

Cranberry & Vitamin C cherry-flavoured gummies are £14.99 for 60 chewable vitamins and are available online at: www.nutrigums.co.uk

Other stocklists include the Nutrigums Amazon shop, as well as Superdrug stores across the UK.
