Whether it’s the start of something new or that spritz behind a lifetime of love, The Perfume Shop, the UK’s largest fragrance retailer celebrated all things love and reported its Valentine’s Day results with a staggering 200,000 bottles sold during the campaign. The Perfume Shop saw an 18% increase in sales volume compared to the same period in 2023.

The Perfume Shop knows that perfume has the power to influence attraction and trigger our emotions. Valentine’s Day isn’t purely a romantic time, it’s a time to celebrate all kinds of love that could start with a spritz – from relationships to friendships.

The Perfume Shop’s sales were driven by a 67% increase in sales of classic fragrances and a 110% increase in gift sets compared to 2023. Promotional deals also proved popular this Valentine’s with the website’s busiest day on Tuesday 13th February seeing a 23% increase in perfume purchases compared to last year.

The perfume retailer’s personalisation services were also in high demand, delivering over 32,000 ribbons and 1,200 engraved fragrances to loved ones, up 13% vs 2023.

Andrea Rickard, The Perfume Shop’s Trading Director said: “We knew that Valentine’s this year was going to be even more special than last year, which is why we’re so pleased to see exceptional sales results from both our stores and online. From classic and popular fragrances to something new, there was a fragrance for everyone purchasing ahead of the big day.

Not only that, but we also ensured that we had lots of fantastic deals and options to choose from across different price points. Customers were able to buy some exciting scents for their loved ones and also make use of our personalised ribbon service and free gift wrap service to give that gift the personal touch which is available in all our stores.”
