TheForkTheFork, Europe’s leading restaurant booking platform, is taking a bold step forward in the future of dining discovery with the full-scale launch of its AI-powered search. Building on months of beta testing, this milestone rollout brings a new way for diners to find their next restaurant: more natural, more intuitive, and more personalised than ever before.

With TheFork’s AI search, users can type or speak what they’re looking for and receive tailored suggestions grounded in the trusted insights of the community: from reviews and menus to photos and offers. Whether it’s “show me a good pizzeria nearby with a nice terrace and live music and 50% off” or “Good sushi restaurants that accept Yums”, this AI-powered feature eliminates the need for filters, instantly includes special offers and shortcuts the decision-making process, so finding the right place feels effortless.

Vision & benefits
TheFork’s ambition is to redefine how people connect with restaurants by combining the richness of human recommendations with the intelligence of AI. The result is a dining discovery experience that is:

  • Smarter and more natural: Express what you want in your own words or simply say it out loud with the voice-enabled control.
  • Personalised: Enjoy tailored results based on trusted reviews from TheFork’s community combined with the power of AI.
  • Inspiring: Not sure what you’re craving? Prompts guide you to explore and discover new options.
  • Seamless and rewarding: Search restaurants and special deals in one smooth flow.

From beta to breakthrough
During the beta phase, adoption skyrocketed among users who tested the AI feature, rising from just 3% of searches powered by AI at launch to 30% today. With the full rollout, TheFork expects this number to reach 60–70% in the near future, confirming the appetite for a new, AI-powered way to dine.

“People don’t search using filters in real life. They say ‘a place with oysters and a sunset view.’ TheFork app understands that,” says Almir Ambeskovic, CEO of TheFork. “With this full launch, we’re realising our vision of becoming the place where people discover restaurants in a way that reflects how we actually make decisions.”

Looking ahead
As AI-powered discovery is quickly becoming the prevailing way diners find restaurants, in the future, we aim to merge this with our classical search option, ensuring that all requests, from the most straightforward to complex, always provide exactly what the diner is looking for. What sets TheFork’s AI apart is its grounding in authentic, trustworthy information contributed by our community. This unique combination of human insights and technological innovation ensures results are not only relevant but also reliable, giving diners greater confidence in their choices.

The new AI-powered search is now available across TheFork app, helping time-pressed
