As the colder weather draws in and people opt for home comforts, recent stats show that during the 13 weeks of winter, Brits spend 18 hours a week plonked on the sofa (a whopping 234 hours in total).* More evenings spent at home with family and friends call for delicious, hearty food.
Asda’s new woodfired pizzas, Bistro range gastro pub classic dishes and smoky Bom Bahia curries allow customers to swap the hustle and bustle of restaurant dining to warming at-home meals this winter – starting at just £4.75. With Brits spending up to £53 per meal when eating out*, Asda’s new additions offer a delicious and a cheaper alternative.
Pizza this – four new pizzas
For those who are reminiscing on (an Italian) summer, Asda has launched four NEW, premium, hand-stretched Italian-style woodfired pizzas with sourdough, priced at £4.75 each.
With recognisable Italian style flavour profiles all around, customers can choose from a great selection of toppings, with new Asda Woodfired Italian Style Pizza choices including Margherita (£4.75), Salsiccia Piccante & ‘Nduja (£4.75), Chicken Arrabiata (£4.75) and Prosciutto Funghi (£4.75); a hand-stretched woodfired base with sourdough, topped with a rich tomato sauce made with Italian tomatoes, creamy shaved mozzarella, tender Italian cotto ham, garlic chestnut mushrooms and creamy British mascarpone.
Commenting on the sourdough trend, Kathryn Saveall, Product Development Manager says: “We are so proud to see these pizzas launch on our pizza counters, we hope they will give customers a taste of an authentic restaurant style Italian pizza but without the hefty price tag, my personal favourite is the prosciutto funghi – the mascarpone & garlic roasted mushrooms are just delicious & go so well with the prosciutto cotto!”.
