ASX-listed global wine and drinks leader Australian Vintage has returned its UK office to the heart of London from Croydon to attract and retain top-tier talent.
Located at Borough, and designed as a fluid work, collaboration, and social space, the purpose-built 2,436sq ft (226sq m) office will be home to Australian Vintage’s 32 UK employees.
To hero the company’s winemaking heritage, a floor to ceiling wine wall display and graphics serve as a visual reminder of the stunning Adelaide Hills vineyards its award-winning Nepenthe wines are crafted from. Other pillar brands include McGuigan Wines, Tempus Two, Not Guilty and Barossa Valley Wine Company. The new exciting location also includes a bar and social space for entertaining, tastings and socialising with customers, clients, suppliers, guests and employees. Plus, on a sunny London day, employees will be able to take advantage of the roof terrace where relaxing furniture encourages conversation or simply downtime outdoors.
The official office opening took place on Monday 5 February when Australian Vintage Chief Executive Officer, Craig Garvin, cut the ribbon.
When selecting the office features Australian Vintage had a clear EVP strategy in mind, offering showers, lockers, bike storage, formal and informal meeting rooms, and private booths, bringing to life its truly flexible working culture, with a focus on work life balance.
UK Chief Operating Officer, Julian Dyer says the move is hugely exciting for Australian Vintage and showcases the business’ investment in its people and culture, as well as its innovation and commitment to the UK market.
“At Australian Vintage we believe our people are our greatest asset. It is important that we provide them with world-class facilities that enhance our employee value proposition and in turn drive productivity. Our London Bridge and Borough location offers a modern office environment in the city, surrounded by fantastic amenities, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and well-connected to major transport links. As staff return to office life post-Covid, we need flexible office environments that are not only a great place to work, but also are a great place for entertaining and socialising to promote culture,” says Dyer.
The new London office builds on Australian Vintage’s attractive global employee benefits scheme rolled out from last July, including:
- Additional Loyalty Leave: after three years’ service employees will receive an additional five days of annual leave.
- Work From Anywhere: office-based employees can work remotely if the role and duties allow overseas or domestically for a period of time.
- Birthday Leave: one day of annual leave on or within the month of their birthday each year.
- Volunteer Days: employees can choose a charity or not-for-profit to volunteer for and still receive their regular pay.
- Mental Health Days: personal leave will be able to be used for a mental health day.
- Summer Fridays: reduced hours on Fridays from 2pm during the summer months.
Australian Vintage is now located at 160 Borough High Street, London SE1 1LB.
