Crispy Chicken Kits launch into Morrisons, in partnership with The Flava People and YO!

Crispy Chicken KitsForward-thinking flavour innovator and licensed brand developer The Flava People has partnered with YO! to launch a new range of YO! Crispy Chicken Kits, rolling out into 305 Morrisons stores nationwide from February 2026. The launch brings YO!’s restaurant-inspired fried chicken flavours to grocery retail, offering a convenient, value-led solution that can be made in under 30 minutes.

The range includes four SKUs:

  • Korean Style Sweet Chilli
  • Japanese Style Sweet & Sour
  • Salt & Pepper with Gochujang Jam
  • Katsu Curry

Each kit pairs a crunchy coating with an authentic, bold sauce that can be prepared in under 30 minutes using just a couple of store cupboard ingredients. The proposition is designed to deliver accessible, authentic, restaurant-quality flavour at home across occasions, while driving incremental sales in the ambient meal kits fixture.

The ‘fakeaway’ category is a major growth driver in grocery with shoppers increasingly seeking convenient, affordable ways to replicate restaurant dishes at home. YO! Crispy Chicken Kits are positioned to capture spend from takeaway occasions by offering accessible international flavours that stand out on shelf from trusted and loved brands.

Scott Dixon, managing director, The Flava People, said: “Retailers need products that deliver on flavour and convenience, and these kits do exactly that. Texture-led dishes are continuing to grow in virality and appeal – particularly with younger consumers – fried chicken sits at the heart of this trend, with popularity booming across foodservice and QSR and yet remaining challenging for shoppers to recreate at home. YO! is a recognised name for bold, modern Japanese food and the kits translate that into a clear retail proposition which we are confident will give retailers a compelling fakeaway solution that drives footfall and basket spend.”

Lauren Crozier, marketing director at YO!, commented: “Fried chicken is a key offering for YO!, with our Karaage and Furi Furi ranges performing strongly across menus and occasions in both restaurants and grocery. They reflect our approach to bold flavour and modern Japanese street-food inspiration, while delivering real versatility for customers. These new kits build on that success, giving shoppers an easy and affordable way to recreate the YO! experience at home, and we’re delighted to be bringing the range to Morrisons customers nationwide.”

Nick Roe, senior trader for ambient meal solutions at Morrisons, added: “YO!’s innovation continues to go from strength to strength, bringing trusted, brand-led innovation for Morrisons shoppers while balancing an accessible price point. Offering versatility across occasions and cooking formats, the crumb and coater is the perfect upgraded offering for meal-time magic. When trialling the range of four before securing the listing, I genuinely couldn’t choose between them – they were all so good. It’ll be exciting to see this innovation grow in a new fixture and watch its performance develop.”

YO! and The Flava People will be supporting the launch with a £1.50 entry promotion, in-store trade marketing, as well as tapping into YO!’s loyalist consumer group with social media posts and emailing their Love Club email subscribers.
