Highcross Shopping Centre in Leicester is set to welcome a number of new brands this summer.
These lettings, which are managed by asset and development manager for the centre, Ellandi, are predicted to bring a total of 30 jobs to the city centre.
Renowned worldwide for its expansive range of premium and designer eyewear, Sunglass Hut have just opened, occupying 776sq ft.
British premium sportswear manufacturer, Castore, is also set to open in early August and will occupy 1,250sq ft of retail space.
Danny Grimshaw, head of retail at Castore, said: “We are thrilled to open our latest store in Highcross, extending our ‘Better Never Stops’ philosophy with our first location in the county of Leicestershire. We look forward to bringing our precision sportswear brand to the centre at an exciting time for the brand”
Sweet treat bakery and occasion cake makers, Butterwick Bakery, will also be opening at the centre later this summer, occupying 970sq ft, and bringing extravagant flavours and artisan bakes to Leicester.
Its opening is part of the centre’s wider commitment to bringing a broader offering of food and beverage operators to Highcross, which already includes Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Auntie Anne’s Bakery and a recently expanded Greggs.
Completing the line-up is greetings cards and gifts retailer, Card Factory, occupying a 1570 sq ft store which opened just weeks ago.
The arrival of the retailers signals a period of positive development for the centre. Since the beginning of Ellandi’s strategic asset management mandate for Highcross, the team has been busy reinvigorating the destination shopping centre as well as embarking on its physical transformation. These improvements, as well as a flurry of further new lettings in the pipeline, will make the customer experience more memorable as well as resonate with customers from the local community and draw in visitors from further afield.
Christina Beggan, director of asset management at Ellandi, said: “The demand for space at Highcross has been very strong, reflecting the centre’s appeal and the confidence that leading brands have in our city centre location.
“Highcross continues to evolve with a diverse range of retail, dining and leisure options, including well-known and much-loved brands such as John Lewis & Partners, Apple and Zara, and we’re confident that these new additions will all be just as well-received by our shoppers. We’re committed to listening to our shoppers’ needs, with the aim of delivering new brands that our shoppers know and love.”
