Milliways Plastic Free Gum – the UK’s fastest growing gum brand – lands major retail launch with M&S

Milliways Plastic Free GumMilliways, the UK’s fastest-growing gum brand and pioneer of plastic-free chewing gum, is launching into a select number of M&S Foodhalls with two of its best-selling flavours – Peppermint and Spearmint. The move marks another major milestone for the brand, which has already saved over 150 million pieces of plastic globally from entering our bodies and the environment.

This UK expansion comes at a time of continued success for Milliways on a global scale, as it takes on the legacy brands that have dominated the category for decades. Already available in major UK retailers like Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Ocado, and following international launches in the USA and France, the company is rapidly growing its presence while staying true to its mission: to replace the 1 billion pieces of plastic gum chewed over the next 5 years with Milliways.

Growing scientific evidence has highlighted the potential harms of ingesting microplastics, specifically those used as an ingredient in most chewing gum brands. A 2025 study by Queens University found that plastic gum can leach up to 250,000 microplastic particles per piece. As the UK’s largest plastic-free gum brand, Milliways is offering customers trusted quality without compromise. Milliways gum is made from just 7 plant-based ingredients and remains the only gum brand in the UK to be certified biodegradable and plastic-free.

Tom Raviv, Milliways Founder and CEO, said “There are few retailers in the world that deliver innovation and range whilst maintaining the highest quality ingredients, quite like M&S. Their ability to work with the best suppliers, large and small, is testament to their consumer-first proposition. Our promise is to maintain the highest quality and cleanest ingredients found in chewing gum today.”

The launch follows on from Milliways’ most recent Out of Home campaign – “Arrive Fresh” – that saw the brand take over a fully electric fleet of London’s iconic black cabs, and will be accompanied by a bold, surround-sound campaign, including nationwide sampling activations, influencer collaborations and voxpop interviews encouraging shoppers to pick up a pack in stores nationwide.

With momentum showing no signs of slowing, Milliways and M&S are proving that innovation in everyday products has the power to spark global change. Shoppers will find Milliways Peppermint and Spearmint 10-packs at Marks & Spencer stores from 8 October 2025.
