Oato, the trailblazing fresh dairy alternative brand and best-selling oat milk on British milk rounds, is celebrating yet another national retailer listing, as they launch into Sainsbury’s chilled aisles across the UK.
From 22nd January 2025, Sainsbury’s customers will be able to purchase Oato Fresh Barista Oat 1 Litre (RRP: £1.75) and Oato Fresh Barista Oat 1 Pint (RRP: £1.10). While almost all other oat milk on offer today are UHT, Oato is made fresh – and you can taste the difference. Oato is among the few to offer a high-quality, great-tasting fresh dairy alternative, at a price that shoppers can afford every week.
Oato’s Fresh Barista Whole 1 Litre is the strongest performing piece of NPD to launch in the Chilled Dairy Alternatives category within the past 52 weeks – delivering more value sales-per-stocking-point, than any other new to market product (Circana, 12 w/e 30th November 2024 – Branded Fresh Milk Category).
Commenting on the launch, founder of Oato, Carl Hopwood, said: “We are so thrilled to partner with Sainsbury’s to become the first fresh oat milk available in their stores. It is yet another significant milestone for Oato as a business, as we continue to make headway in becoming the leading dairy alternative brand in the UK. Locally sourced, convenience, and affordability matter to UK consumers, so to be one of the few that have those USPs within the dairy alternative category while also being fresh and not UHT, raises the bar.”
Oato stands out for many reasons, not least for its sustainability credentials. A British brand that manufactures in the UK using 100% British oats, their carbon footprint and associated carbon miles are among the lowest of any plant milk on sale today. Their bottling site in Lancashire is solar-powered, producing more power than needed annually.
