fruit garnishesA unique new range of high quality, ready to use fruit garnishes designed to effortlessly elevate the at-home drinking experience is now available in retail from Mixologist’s Garden.

Five fruit options – Lemon, Lime and Strawberry slices, as well as whole Raspberries and Blueberries – are now available in selected Asda stores nationwide and East of England Co-op stores.

Hand selected for their superior quality and then freeze-dried to capture 100% of the fruit’s flavour and appearance, the garnishes enable consumers to tap into the growing trend for drinking at home and to quickly and easily create beautiful drinks without having to buy, prepare and ultimately waste fresh ingredients.  For retailers, the distinctive packaging ensures high on-shelf visibility, providing the perfect added-value impulse purchase and a valuable opportunity to increase basket spend.

Convenient, waste free and available in 10g resealable pouches (RRP £2.75 per 10g pouch), they can be stored at ambient temperatures and have a long shelf life.  Each 10g pouch contains the equivalent of approximately 100g of fresh fruit; the fruits quickly rehydrate on contact with liquid in the glass.

“In our research, 80% of consumers said they would garnish drinks at home if an easy solution was available, but they didn’t want the hassle of buying and preparing, and possibly wasting, fresh fruit,” said Stuart Findlater, business director at Mixologist’s Garden. “Perfect for use in cocktails, sparkling wines, spirits and soft drinks, and so easy for use at home, the garnishes quickly enhance the appearance and flavour of any drink they’re added to.”

Mixologist’s Garden’s fruits are hand-selected for their superior quality and their suitability for the state of the art freeze-drying process. This involves placing frozen fruit in a deep vacuum whilst increasing the temperature to drive the instant evaporation of the fruit’s water content in a process called sublimation, resulting in a freeze-dried fruit that retains shape, quality, flavour, colour, and vitamin content.
