Junction 32, Yorkshire’s leading outlet shopping destination, has rounded off a record-breaking 2024 with exceptional results during the Christmas trading period, underscoring its status as a leading outlet shopping destination. The centre achieved year-on-year growth across both sales and footfall, with standout performances in key categories.
The week commencing 23rd December saw sales increase by an impressive +21%, with footfall up by +4% compared to the same week in 2023. The 27th of December emerged as a star performer, with sales soaring +32% and footfall growing by +15% against the previous year. Gift & Confectionery, Mixed Fashion, and Health & Beauty were among the best performing like for like categories in December, highlighting the centre’s diverse and appealing retail mix.
The successful Christmas period was also bolstered by the raft of new stores that have arrived at the outlet centre in 2024 including 200 Degrees Coffee, Bonmarche, Castore, Dune, Flannels, Krispy Kreme, Lucy and Yak, Luke, Oxen, Saltrock and Sofa.com, with upsizes and refitted store from Greggs, Mountain Warehouse/Animal, Pavers and Sports Direct.
2024 was a landmark year for Junction 32, with annual sales up +5.2% versus 2023, marking the centre’s best-ever performance. Nine months of the year, saw record-breaking turnover figures. December alone recorded a remarkable +9.7% increase in sales compared to 2023. Across the year, Sports and Outdoor, Menswear, Mixed Fashion and Homeware stood out as top-performing categories, demonstrating the centre’s broad appeal.
Junction 32’s continued success reflects its dedication to offering shoppers exceptional value, a curated selection of brands, and an engaging retail experience. The centre’s ability to meet and exceed customer expectations throughout 2024 highlights its role as a key retail destination.
